A Safe and Welcoming Children's home in New Malden

Birch Kids house is located in Kingston, here we offer accommodation for up to five young males and females from the ages of 8 years old to 17.

The home is ideally located in a warm community with good local amenities. Our Kingston location is surrounded by plenty of stunning trails and public parks like Richmond Park, leisure centres in New Malden, Activities such as bowling, cinema or feeding the ducks by Kingston Riverside.

The house has five bedrooms and has a spacious communal living space. Birch House is a five-bedroom terraced property located in Kingston. The home consists of a welcoming entrance hallway, large lounge/dining room with an open-plan kitchen, one office for staff located on the first floor and staff bedroom with an ensuite on the first floor. A ground floor, first floor and second floor WC. To the first floor, there are two spacious sized bedrooms and on the second floor there is three spacious sized bedrooms.

The garden has a raised flower/vegetable bed. The children’s bedrooms are all furnished and decorated to meet a child or young adult's unique personality.

    Our team provide caring and appropriate role models who are experienced and well trained in offering a service that covers important “outcomes” for young people, through the application of choices, activities and consistent boundaries.

    Access to vast and varied activities specifically developed and supported, encourage young people to access their local and wider community.

    We also develop tailored independence programs to teach a variety of personal, social and independence skills that will allow young people to grow, take control of their futures.

  • Promoting positive behaviour

    We use a combination of praise and recognition, with routines and boundaries to promote positive behaviour. Staff support the young person to understand their behaviour and to understand why there is a need to set goals and boundaries. We hope to enhance the young person’s self-esteem and promote positive expectations for their future behaviour.
